Bringing light, love, and hope to families facing childhood cancer and blood disorders this holiday season.This year, we’re adopting 65 families.

The holidays should be full of joy. But for families with a child in treatment, this time of year often brings extra stress, extra bills, and the heavy feeling of not knowing how to make the season special.
Holidays For Hope is one of our most cherished traditions. Each year, we wrap families in love with gifts, household essentials, and financial support so they can focus on being together.
Every family is referred to us by a pediatric oncology social worker and has a child in active treatment right now.
Why It Matters
How Sponsoring Works
This isn’t your typical adopt-a-family program. When you sponsor through Lighthouse, you get to know the family you’re shopping for and see exactly what your generosity means to them.Sign up. Choose the family size that works for you.
Get your family’s wish list. Referrals close November 14. Shortly after, we’ll send you your family’s details, including ages, wish lists, and clothing sizes.
Shop. We ask that each family member gets at least 2 to 3 gifts to open. All gifts must be brand new and unwrapped.
Drop off or ship by December 5. Local sponsors can drop gifts at the Hope Center. Out-of-state sponsors can ship to us.
We take it from there. We check every gift, wrap them with care, and get them into your family’s hands.

Giving funds is the fastest way to help, and it lets us fill gaps wherever they show up. Your gift covers presents, household essentials, gift cards, wrapping supplies, and shipping for families out of state.$50 covers gifts for one child
$150 provides a grocery gift card
$300 sponsors a small family’s entire holiday
$500 sponsors a medium family’s entire holiday
$1,000 sponsors a large family’s entire holiday

Rally your office, school, church, or club to collect gifts and essentials for our families. You can collect new toys, household supplies, self-care items, or gift cards for groceries and gas. “My daughter started treatment right before the holidays. I remember a nurse asking her what she wanted for Christmas and I started crying. I was still in so much shock and I hadn’t even thought about Christmas gifts. I couldn’t imagine how I was going to make it happen. It felt like another gut punch and it’s unexplainable how much that weighs on you when you don’t know if it’s your child’s last. Our social worker connected us with Lighthouse and it ended up being the most magical Christmas we’ve ever had.”

It depends on the family size and how you shop. Most sponsors spend around $100 per family member. Do what feels right for you!
