About Lighthouse For Hope

Program Support

  • Hope Families: Prepare the space for Hope Family visits and events in partnership with the Programs Director. Welcome families to the Hope Center, helping them feel comfortable, cared for, and supported. Help families find what they need from the pantry, supply room, and playroom. Share what you notice with the Programs Director so every family gets the right follow-up.

  • Holidays For Hope: Log in-kind donations and coordinate donation drive logistics. Schedule volunteers for wrapping days. Help match sponsors with families and coordinate their shopping.

  • Illuminate Retreat: Help with logistics, including outreach to brands for product donations and gift bag items.

  • Hope Center operations: Help keep the Hope Center clean, organized, and welcoming, including the family lounge, playroom, pantry, and donation room.

In-Kind Donations

  • Receive, sort, log, and organize all in-kind donations.

  • Pick up donations from donors, businesses, and drive locations around the Phoenix area.

  • Reach out to brands and local businesses to request product and gift card donations for our programs, the Hope Center, and the Illuminate Retreat.

Fundraising & Donor Support

  • Support the Executive Director with prep and coordination for fundraising events like Black Tie Bingo Bash, including vendor logistics, auction and prize items, setup, and day-of support.

  • Handle outreach and follow-up with brands and businesses for in-kind donations, sponsorship items, and event prizes.

  • Keep shared trackers up to date for donations, follow-ups, and event items so nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Help with some donor communications such as newsletters and event invitations, as directed by the Executive Director.

Volunteers

  • Oversee volunteer opportunities and our volunteer system, including applications, waivers, scheduling, and communication.

  • Be a point of contact for volunteers at the Hope Center.

The Operations & Program Coordinator keeps Lighthouse running smoothly behind the scenes so our families get the best of us. You will be the person who makes sure the Hope Center is clean, stocked, and ready for every family who walks through the door. You will manage the flow of in-kind donations, support our programs and fundraising events with prep and logistics, and help oversee our volunteers.

This role is a mix of hands-on work and organization. Some days you will be picking up donations and restocking the freezer. Other days you will be emailing brands for product donations or building a volunteer schedule for an event. If you like knowing where everything is, enjoy checking things off a list, and want your work to matter to families going through the hardest time of their lives, we would love to meet you.

About The Role

  • You’re organized and detail-oriented. Things don’t fall through the cracks with you.

  • You take initiative. You notice what needs to be done and do it without being asked.

  • You’re comfortable doing whatever the day needs, from cleaning and breaking down boxes to emailing a brand partner.

  • You’re warm and steady with people who are going through something hard. You know how to listen, and you’re comfortable just being present.

  • You treat families’ stories and information with care and keep them confidential.

  • You communicate clearly and kindly, in person, by email, and on the phone.

  • You’re comfortable with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Drive) and willing to learn new systems. Experience with a donor CRM, volunteer platform, or inventory system is a plus.

Who You Are

  • A reliable personal vehicle for some donation pickups and errands, plus a valid Arizona’s driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Mileage is reimbursed.

  • Able to lift and carry bigger items and boxes and be on your feet for extended periods during events and setup.

  • Available one Saturday a month and for occasional evening and weekend events, with advance notice.

  • Able to handle donor and family information with discretion and confidentiality.

  • Must pass a background check, since this role works directly with children and families.

Requirements

  • $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience.

  • Mileage reimbursement for donation pickups and work errands.

  • Paid sick time.

  • A flexible schedule built around our weekly rhythm and events.

  • A small, supportive team, and the chance to see the impact of your work every day.
